500 Awesome Photos

There are many beautiful sights to see while traveling along The Great Allegheny Passage.  

These are just a few of many that can be seen in Ohiopyle, PA, just one of many small communities that lies along this trail.

The Great Allegeny Passage Trail passes through Ohiopyle and hundreds of thousands of people travel through this area every year.   There are many Wonders of Nature to enjoy here.  

Close by is this awesome hidden waterfall called Cucumber Falls. You have to walk down 108 steps to get to the bottom and there are several trails leading in and out of this area. 

This is the beautiful Ohiopyle Falls.   Thousands of visitors come here every year to enjoy the water, and the nature that surrounds the area.  Ohiopyle is great for camping, biking, hiking, swimming, and just “hanging” out for the day!

Ohiopyle is beautiful no matter what time of year you visit.  This photo shows looking downstream on the Youghiogheny River from the Falls area.

Come visit. Once you see what all there is to do, you’ll be back several times a year!

Scenic Outlook, Ohiopyle, PA

This beautiful landscape is located along the road to Kentuck Knob Campground near Ohiopyle, PA, which is located along the Great Allegheny Passage Trail

I stopped here early one Autumn morning while heading to the campground.

There are so many awesome sites to see here. And I will be posting many photos of the beauty that surrounds this area along the Great Allegheny Passage!

Here is a photo of a beautiful yellow Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterfly that I photographed while walking along the Great Allengheny Passage Trail here in Connellsville, PA. 

She was enjoying sunning herself on a Milkweed Leaf!

She is one of several varieties of butterflies that frequent the flowers along this trail.

“Check out my photo here!” says the butterfly!

On any given day, you can see the beauty that nature has to offer.   And it changes from week to week.

Here is a monarch caterpiller that was on a Milkweed bush along the trail!  Just think of the beautiful Butterfly he is going to become!

While recently walking along the railroad tracks along the Youghiogheny River here in Connellsville,PA, I caught this awesome photo of a butterfly on Butterfly Weed!

The colors of the butterfly blend so well with the colors of the flower!

This was taken this January 2009, at our local River Park here in Connellsville, PA. This park is located on the Great Allegheny Passage Trail.

The ice and snow on the river was just beginning to melt, and I was able to “capture” these Geese!

This beautiful sunset  over the lake was taken on the Summer Solstice in June 2009!

This lake is “hidden” right outside the town of Mt. Pleasant, PA, near the small town of Bridgeport, PA.

We were just done having dinner with friends, and since it was a beautiful warm evening, and this lake was so close, we decided to stop and relax for a while.

Soon after we arrived, I got this photo and several more photos of this awesome sunset!

This is what it really looked like! I did NOT photo shop any of these colors!
